ARE GOOD FRIENDS TO THE SOUTH, MEXICO,
are opening up shop on Catalina Island - a small resort off the California coast - to begin handing out ID cards to illegal aliens. Go figure ... Something should put a stop to this, but President Obama is boys with Mexican President Calderón, so that probably won't happen ...

A MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT Barack Obama an Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is set to take place today at the White House ... Update on the discussion as it becomes available ...

16 ILLEGAL ALIENS SUE ARIZONA RANCHER
reports the Washington Times. The Illegals are represented by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF). The plaintiffs are seeking $32 Million in damages for civil rights violation and numerous other bogus charges. Hopefully the jurors will agree with defendant who has for years simply sought to protect his 22,000-acre ranch from the ruin caused by migrants entering the country illegally. Roger Barnett, 64, acknowledges he has turned over more than 12,000 illegal aliens to U.S. Border Patrol since 1998. ...

MORE THAN 100 ACTIVISTS
set up camp at Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan, where the government’s immigration agencies have their New York offices. The protesters are on a three-day fast to bring attention to U.S. immigration law. Among the "activists" was Adela Valdez, 39, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, who said that fasting was just one of many tools that demonstrators have to employ to compel lawmakers to take action, according to the New York Times. Since Valdez admits to being an illegal alien, shouldn't this faster be arrested? ...

SOME PEOPLE DO A GOOD JOB of highlighting their own stupidity. Writer Suzy Khimm of Mother Jones does just this in a piece this morning ... Press 1 on your touch-tone phone if you are as clueless as she is ...

IN A NOT-SO-SHOCKING SHOW OF HANDS yesterday the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to boycott the state of Arizona, cut off all financial ties and suspend all travel there in a knee-jerk response to the state's new immigration law. Does anyone have a problem boycotting LA right back?

HERE'S A NICE ARTICLE FROM
, surprisingly enough, MSNBC. NBC News Correspondent Mark Potter writes a nice profile feature on the U.S. Border Patrol and highlighting the dangerous Rio Grande crossing area in Texas. Illegal immigration is on the rise here, a haven for drug and alien smuggling, a network of hidden trails and a "24-Hour threat" along the U.S. border
with Mexico, our good friends to the South ...

GOP SENATORS IN MASSACHUSETTS
are backing a measure designed to crack down on illegal aliens receiving public benefits, according to the Boston Herald. This is a step in the right direction, but may have a hard time seeing the light of day with so many left-wing, pro-illegal alien Democrats in the state house. Senate President Therese Murray, a Democrat, said the state already has safeguards in place to bar illegal immigrants from receiving public benefits and calls the GOP budget amendment "smoke and mirrors." In reality, the measure seems to be an additional tool to the safeguards already on the books in the Bay State. It's a good guess that Sen. Murray might see illegal aliens as potential democrat voters ...

AN ESTIMATED 50,000 IDIOTS,
excuse me, opponents of Arizona's new immigration enforcement law are to protest in Phoenix this weekend according to an Associated Press report. Left-wing labor unions and so-called civil rights groups are in charge of the organizing. The idiots, excuse me, opponents "plan to demand that President Barack Obama order federal immigration authorities not to accept custody of illegal immigrants brought in under the Arizona law." In addition, "they also want the Obama administration to revoke agreements that allow local police to enforce federal immigration laws," according to the report ... Apparently, these people are so pro-illegal immigration that they are calling on the federal government to stop enforcing immigration law in the state of Arizona. Talk about backwards thinking. Perhaps U.S. immigration officials should police the area and demand to see documentation. It's a safe bet that many of the protesters will be Illegals themselves ...

MARCHING TOWARD DEATH:
Over the past week three dead bodies were found by U.S. Border Patrol agents near Arizona's southern border. Conditions in Mexico are so bad people are willing to risk their life to make it north to America. Desperate times call for desperate measures. In addition, 24 Illegals were found in a Douglas, AZ "stash house" according to this report ...

FROM THE LOS ANGELES TIMES:
Federal officials hope the prosecution of Chef Michel Malecot, 52, owner of San Diego's French Gourmet, will deter other employers from knowingly hiring undocumented workers. Malecot has entered a plea of not guilty. Malecot, popular in San Diego catering and philanthropic circles, according to the Times, was indicted last month on 12 felony counts of knowingly hiring illegal immigrants, some of whom have worked for him for 15 years. If convicted, Malecot could face a maximum of five years in prison
as well as a fine of $250,000 per count ...

FEDERAL OFFICIALS AND CENTRAILIA, WA POLICE
have targeted alleged gang suspects and drug and weapons criminals. Five illegal aliens were arrested Thursday and Friday as officers seized 80 grams of methamphetamine and located $200,000 in stolen property ... Note: This is not an isolated incident in the Evergreen State and thwarts the Leftist myth that all illegal aliens come to America to assimilate and find work ...

MAY 19, 2010, 3:00 p.m., EST

MEXICAN PRESIDENT FELIPE CALDERON
is in Washington for a visit with President Obama. It didn't take him long to insult those who stand against illegal immigration and in particular the State of Arizona.

In his opening remarks to the press Calderon railed against the Arizona immigration enforcement law saying it "is forcing our people to face discrimination."

Interesting that he calls it "discrimination" against "our people". If they are your people Felipe, do us all a favor and take them back when you leave. Most of the American people don't want them here since they entered our country illegally. And as for you Señor Calderon, make your stay short and sweet and get on your way back to Mexico. Surely you have some corruption to fix there ...

MAY 18, 2010, 4:25 p.m., EST

THE FIX IS IN:
President Obama's Aunt, Zeituni Onyango, 57, has been granted asylum by a United States immigration court in Boston. Onyango has been in living in the U.S. illegally since 2004 when she was ordered deported. Well that's one more, let's say we just legalize 12 to 20 million more and call it good ...

ILLEGAL ALIENS WERE ARRESTED
for trespassing outside Senator John McCain's Arizona offices Monday. The group was protesting Arizona's new immigration enforcement law. One man arrested, 24-year-old Mohammad Abdollah is a Muslim illegal alien who lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan .
Abdollah fears being deported to his native Iran, because he is an admitted homosexual. The Islamic-ruled, terrorist supporting nation of Iran doesn't take kindly to those of his sexual ilk, even though its political and religious leaders are all about acceptance, tolerance and peace. Now facing possible deportation, it seems Abdollah should have laid low ...

WE NEED MORE LAWYERS LIKE THIS:
Well-Educated Kansas attorney Kris Kobach has degrees from Oxford, Harvard and Yale and helped the Bush administration shape immigration policy post-9-11. He was denied entry to West Point because he suffers from diabetes. However, he sees his fight against illegal immigration as a fair substitute for not being able to serve in the military. Imagine if all lawyers were on the right side of the law ...

FIVE ILLEGAL ALIENS were arrested in Ohio after fleeing a vehicle on the state turnpike over the weekend. Melvin Hernandez has been identified as the driver. He and four other fled after being pulled over by U.S. Border Agents. The illegals were rounded up and arrested with the help of state and local law enforcement.

FREE PHIL JACKSON!: It was reported here earlier that the NBA has stuck its nose in the Arizona immigration argument, with many voicing disapproval over the State's new law. Los Angeles Lakers Phil Jackson was one of the few that voiced his approval. “Am I crazy, or am I the only one that heard [the legislature] say ‘we just took the United States immigration law and adapted it to our state,’” Jackson said. Well his remarks stirred an uproar among the supports of Illegals who detest U.S. immigration policy and the state of Arizona. Before and during Monday night's Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, "a small but spirited group of activists" gathered to address the Zen-Master's comments.

"The way we look at it, Phil Jackson is supporting the Arizona law," said Mario Gonzalez, a longtime Lakers fan and rally organizer. "That's surprising. It caught us off guard. We want to find out where the team stands on the law." ...

LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS IN DECATUR, ALABAMA are making a concerted effort to step-up enforcement against illegal aliens. Simply put, when police find Illegals committing additional crimes, i.e., more than just being in the country illegally, they take the initiative to contact U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) via a 24-hour hotline. So far, 55 Illegals have been picked up by the Feds this year. At least one phone call is made to ICE by police everyday ...

HOUSE SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI (D-CA)
expresses her love for all illegal aliens in the United States. She loves them so much she wants to reward them for their illegal entrance and occupance. San Francisco's proud madam is calling for amnesty for all the lawbreakers - "A Path to Citizenship" has a nice ring to it. In addition, she is urging churches to call from the pulpits to legalize the illegals. Those not in support of her amnesty plan, well they aren't supporters of immigration reform. Pelosi gets more dumb and more dangerous as she ages. Liberals love to twist the language, don't they?

MAY 11, 2010, 3:00 p.m., EST

IT WAS JUST A MATTER OF TIME
before the clowns at the United Nations weighed in on Arizona's new immigration enforcement law. Six so-called "Human Rights Experts" declared, "a disturbing pattern of legislative activity hostile to ethnic minorities and immigrants has been established with the adoption of an immigration law that may allow for police action targeting individuals on the basis of their perceived ethnic origin." Just like the Leftists in the United States, these UN mouthpieces miss the point in telling the state of Arizona that it is wrong to adopt and enforce U.S. immigration policy within its own borders ...

"[GO AHEAD AND SUE]" -
That's the take that former CNN corespondent and nationally syndicated radio talk-show host Lou Dobbs has on President Obama's Justice Department toying with the idea of suing the state of Arizona over it's new law, SB 1070 (PDF).

Mr. Dobbs appeared on the Fox News program "The O'Reilly Factor" Monday evening and when asked why he wants Attorney General Eric Holder and Justice to take Arizona to court said, "Because we need clarity in this country. We need — enough of the rhetoric from the left, the right, any of these factions. Let's talk about the responsibilities of the federal government, the responsibilities of the state government. The last I looked, they hadn't suspended the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Arizona has every right to be taking these steps, particularly where this government is quite consciously, this administration quite consciously is refusing to enforce immigration law either internally or at the border." In other words - go ahead and make asses of yourselves with a majority of the American people taking Arizona's side ...

DEPORTATION, NOT INCARCERATION - A Barbados native, illegal alien and deportee sued the city of New York, NY because he was held on Rikers Island for one-month after failing to appear in court on a drug charge. The standard holding time for Illegals is two days. Cecil Harvey, deported in October 2007, was awarded $145,000 of taxpayer money after a lawsuit claiming his violation of his civil rights was settled. The consequences of the settlement has led corrections officials to "dump scores" of illegals on to city streets. Why? Because federal immigration officials fail to pick up many illegals within the two-day window. This is simply another case of the Feds not doing its job and, as the article points out, shows the nonsense behind the liberal cry that the Arizona's SB 1070 is "unnecessary" ...

DUMB IS DUMB, THEN THERE'S ARNOLD -In his commencement address at Emory University, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger joked "I was also going to give a graduation speech in Arizona this weekend. But with my accent, I was afraid they would try to deport me." One can't expect much more from the leadership-less, liberal Republican who has turned a blind-eye to the illegal alien problem in his own state. Maybe one of these days he'll get back to what most people love him for - his action movies - because he has been a piss-poor governor as the Golden State continues to be overrun by illegal aliens who bankrupt hospitals, social services, education and the like. Forget about it Arnold, just have the taxpayers pick up the tab on their abuse of the system. It's worked well for you so far as you've managed to stay in power in Sacramento. One would figure a legal immigrant who became a U.S. citizen by following the rule of law would be a bit scornful toward lawbreaking illegal aliens. Guess not.

CALIFORNIA AND PENNSYLVANIA
authorities made arrests this week of state employees for illegally issuing drivers' licenses to illegal aliens.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported today that according to court documents Harold Palmer, 43, accepted $40 to $100 per driver from Saman H. Salem in return for issuing licenses to ineligible clients of Salem's Professional Driving School. According to officials the scheme, which included helping Illegals cheat on driver exams, goes back to 2003 ...

Four California state DMV employees, all women, were arrested Thursday on multiple felony counts for allegedly issuing illegal driver's licenses and vehicle titles, said state officials according to the Los Angeles Times report.

The workers are identified as Taneika Mashay Lathan, 22; Shavon Renae Shorter, 25; and Kimberly Nicole Sadler, 30, from the Los Angeles-Hope Street office, and Angelina Nanette James, 42, who worked at the agency's Fullerton office, according to a statement from the DMV. Each were booked and charged on suspicion of conspiracy, grand theft, illegal computer access, bribery and use of false documents to conceal residency status. The women allegedly charged $350 to $6,000 to fraudulently process the applications, according to the report ...

Also in California, a man and woman were arrested for allegedly manufacturing and selling fake documents "for the purpose of allowing illegal aliens to obtain employment and possible government benefits," according to this report. U.S. ICE and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department are continuing the investigation to possibly identify other suspects involved with the manufacture of false documents ...

PETER HUESSY OF FOX NEWS writes an interesting piece citing four scary ways in which illegal immigration and terrorism are tied together ...

YESTERDAY IT WAS NOTED that the NBA's Phoenix Suns had moved into the world of making political statements. The teams donning of "Los Suns" jerseys on Cinco de Mayo in protest of Arizona's tough new immigration enforcement law has apparently irked some fans. According to the Arizona Republic the political gesture drew 84 letters-to-the-editor, 79 of which opposed the team's decision. One woman even shredded her four low-level tickets to Wednesday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs ... Message to sports franchises - don't support illegal aliens. They are lawbreakers and line-cutters ...

Putting more heat on the Suns is Arizona Rep. J.D. Hayworth who wants the team's General Manager Steve Kerr to apologize for comparing the new state law to something out of Nazi Germany (obviously one of the inane Leftist talking points used to demonize the legislation).

"It's hard to imagine in this country that we have to produce papers," Kerr said. "It rings up images of Nazi Germany. We understand that the intentions of the law are not for that to happen, but you have to be very, very careful." Apparently Mr. Kerr knows little if not a thing about U.S. Immigration Law. Foreginers in this country on work visas, as tourists, or on any other form of temporary status are required to carry proper identification, or "papers" such as passports, green cards, etc. with them at all times. Also, the valid documents are to be produced upon request of U.S. immigration or other law enforcement officials.

In opening his mouth, Kerr is showing his complete ignorance on this subject. As well, he is missing the point because the legislation targets illegal aliens who obviously would not be able to produce proper paperwork. Moreover, as a legal citizen of this country born in Washington, D.C. and as a resident of [the People's Republic] State of Maryland, I carry a valid state issued driver's license and a legal certificate of birth. If someone asks for ID there is no problem. People in Arizona shouldn't have a problem either. I say to people such as Steve Kerr, if you can't produce "papers", that's your problem.

LA RAZA,
a so-called Hispanic civil rights group, has organized a boycott of Arizona in light of the state's new immigration enforcement law, SB 1070 (PDF). This radical group of anti-American sentimentalists is joined by a host of other like-minded organizations in an effort to due economic damage to a state trying to get a fix on it's long-standing problem with illegal aliens. In addition, La Raza will move forward with a "big voter registration push" in the state to increase the number of Hispanic voters in November. No doubt it will try to get more illegal aliens to the polls in order to advance its radical agenda ...

RUSSIAN-AMERICAN BORIS EPSHTEYN, in "A Legal Immigrant's Take on Arizona's Immigration Law" explains why he cannot empathize nor support those who willfully break the law to gain entry in to the United States of America ...

SETTING THE ISSUE of illegal immigration in its rightful place are William Hamilton and Michelle Malkin. Mr. Hamilton focuses on the economics of immigration reform in defending Arizona's new law as a matter of economics, not race as the Left tries to paint it.

Author and blog diva Malkin points out Mexico's immigration laws in a comparison/contrast to those of the U.S. At the same time, Mexican President Felipe Calderon is critical of Arizona's new immigration law claiming it opens the doors to "intolerance, hate, discrimination and abuse in law enforcement." It is obvious that his country supports intolerance, hate and discrimination of non-citizens.

CBS, as most of its MSM counterparts, is sympathetic to illegal aliens in the U.S. as this Newsbusters piece showcases. This is simply another example of how the alphabet networks often tell part of the story in order to highlight its stance on the issue being covered ... Also from Newbusters, CBS talking-head Harry Smith likens the new Arizona immigration law to "Nazi Germany" in a conversation with Congressman J.D. Hayworth (R-5-AZ) on its propaganda show "Face the Nation". It is clear now as ever that CBS supports illegal aliens and in granting amnesty to these lawbreakers ...

A "CLONED" TOURISM vehicle was used by as U.S. smuggler to transport illegal aliens in California. The U.S. Border Patrol said quick action by the local police department led to the discovery of an inventive ploy to smuggle aliens into the United States according to the CNN report ... Also from CNN, reporter Jack Cafferty asks the "real" John McCain (R-AZ) to stand up. Cafferty editorializes on the senator's "flip-flop" on illegal immigration. There is nothing new here - throughout his tenure on Capitol Hill Sen. McCain has changed his mind for political expediency on everything from immigration, to bailouts, to pork-barrel spending. McCain may claim to stick to his guns, but followers of Washington politics know he talks a big game and often ends up on the wrong side of issues going whichever way the wind blows. At least here he has found the correct side if he now opposes amnesty for illegal aliens ...

WHAT'S WITH THE NBA'S Phoenix Suns wearing the "Los Suns" jerseys for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semis versus the San Antonio Spurs on Cinco de Mayo? Well, the idea is a political statement from franchise owner Robert Sarver who opposes Arizona's new immigration law. Players as well hailed the move including Suns point guard and two-time league MVP Steve Nash, a native Canadian. "I think the law is very misguided," he said. "I think it’s, unfortunately, to the detriment of our society and our civil liberties. I think it’s very important for us to stand up for things we believe in.” ... Perhaps Mr. Nash would like to donate and raise funds to help escort illegal aliens crossing the U.S. border with Mexico to help transport them for drop off in Canada ...

PIMA COUNTY, ARIZONA Sheriff Clarence Dupnik tells Bill O'Reilly on the Fox News program "The O'Reilly Factor" why he believes the state's new immigration law is "stupid" and "irresponsible." The long-time law enforcement officer believes the legislation has put lawmen in an enforcement position of "damned if we do and damned if we don't." ...

FEDERAL AGENTS arrested 137 illegal aliens in Ohio earlier this week. A statewide sting led to the round-up in the Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati metropolitan areas. If they could just find and deport thousands more the Feds might be making serious progress in the Buckeye State. As far east as on Maryland roadways suspected illegal aliens are often spotted driving and riding in vehicles with Ohio tags ...

THE TEXAS A&M student senate was set to vote on a proposal to put it on record as opposing in-state tuition rates for illegal aliens. By a 34-19 vote the student leadership body ducked the issue and sent the proposal back to its external affairs committee ...

THIS PAST SUNDAY the Arizona Republic ran a front-page editorial criticizing the federal government for "abdicating its duty on the border." The paper slams a number of politicians including Arizona Senators John McCain and John Kyl as well as Governor Jan Brewer for signing the new immigration bill into law. In typical liberal fashion it tries to have it both ways. It criticized Washington for its failure to act on immigration reform while criticizing the state government for acting on immigration reform. This is no surprise. True, the U.S. Congress hasn't done its job on the issue, but one can't blame the state for taking action into its own hands ...

more later ...

Note: Okay, so this blog has returned after almost four-years. As I get back into the swing of covering the issue of illegal aliens in the United States I'll be sure to add more goodies such as links to other sites on the issue, an immigration bill page and yeah - pictures and video - Everyone loves images!
