A BILL
To amend title 38, United States Code, to increase the amount of
assistance for certain disabled veterans for specially adapted housing and
automobile and adaptive equipment.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `Disabled Veterans Adaptive Benefits Improvement
Act of 2003'.
SEC. 2. INCREASE IN ASSISTANCE AMOUNT FOR SPECIALLY ADAPTED HOUSING.
Section 2102 of title 38, United States Code, is amended--
(1) in the matter preceding paragraph (1) of subsection (a), by striking
`$48,000' and inserting `$50,000'; and
(2) in subsection (b)(2), by striking `$9,250' and inserting `$10,000'.
SEC. 3. INCREASE IN AMOUNT OF ASSISTANCE FOR AUTOMOBILE AND ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT
FOR CERTAIN DISABLED VETERANS.
Section 3902(a) of title 38, United States Code, is amended by striking `$9,000'
and inserting `$11,000'.
