A BILL
To amend the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 to
repeal the authorized 2005 round of closures and realignments of military
installations.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `BRAC Repeal Act of 2003'.
SEC. 2. REPEAL OF AUTHORIZATION FOR AN ADDITIONAL ROUND OF BASE REALIGNMENTS
AND CLOSURES IN 2005.
(a) REPEAL- The Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 (part A of
title XXIX of Public Law 101-510; 10 U.S.C. 2687 note) is amended by striking
sections 2906A, 2912, 2913, and 2914, as added by title XXX of the National
Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2002 (Public Law 107-107; 115 Stat.
1342).
(b) CONFORMING AMENDMENT- Section 2904(a)(3) of the Defense Base Closure and
Realignment Act of 1990, as amended by section 3004 of the National Defense
Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2002 (115 Stat. 1347), is amended by striking
`in the 2005 report'and inserting `in a report submitted after 2001'.
