For the relief of Shwa-Chen Chai.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. ENTITLEMENT TO AN ALTERNATIVE FORM OF ANNUITY.

For purposes of any determination of rights under subchapter III of chapter 83 of title 5, United States Code, Dr. An-Ti Chai, the late husband of Shwa-Chen Chai of Oberlin, Ohio, shall be deemed--

(1) to have been retired under section 8336(d)(2) of such title 5 at the time of his death; and

(2) to have made an election of a lump-sum payment under section 8343a of such title 5.
