Mr. CHAMBLISS (for himself, Mr. GRAHAM of South Carolina, Mr. MCCAIN, and Mr. ALLEN) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Armed Services

Entitled the `Guard and Reserve Commanders Pay Equity Act'.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SEC. . EXPANSION OF ELIGIBILITY FOR COMMAND RESPONSIBILITY SPECIAL PAY.

Section 306 of title 37, United States Code, is amended--

(1) in subsection (a), by inserting `under section 201 of this title, or the compensation under section 206 of this title,' after `is entitled to the basic pay';

(2) by redesignating subsections (b) through (e) as subsections (c) through (f), respectively; and

(3) by inserting after subsection (a) the following new subsection (b):

`(b) In the case of an officer who is a member of the National Guard or a member of a reserve component, special pay under subsection (a) shall be paid at the rate of 1/30 of the monthly rate authorized by that subsection for each day of the performance of duties described in that subsection.'.
