A BILL
To amend title 23, United States Code, to provide grant eligibility
for a State that adopts a program for the impoundment of vehicles operated
by persons while under the influence of alcohol.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `John's Law of 2005'.
SEC. 2. ALCOHOL-IMPAIRED DRIVING COUNTERMEASURES.
Section 410(b)(1) of title 23, United States Code, is amended by adding at
the end the following:
`(H) PROGRAM FOR IMPOUNDMENT OF VEHICLES- A program to impound a vehicle
for no less than 12 hours that is operated by a person who is arrested
for operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.'.
END
