A BILL
To make appropriations for fiscal year 2002 for the establishment and
operation of a plant genetic conservation center.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the `Plant Genetic Conservation Center Act'.
SEC. 2. APPROPRIATION FOR PLANT GENETIC CONSERVATION CENTER.
The following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not
otherwise appropriated, for fiscal year 2002:
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
Agricultural Research Service
PLANT GENETIC CONSERVATION CENTER
For the establishment and operation of a center to carry out a plant
genetic conservation program to store genetic material from rare, endangered,
and threatened plants, including construction and maintenance of a
temperature-controlled facility for such purpose, $5,000,000.
