A BILL
To remove the exemption with respect to Pakistan from the prohibition
on assistance to a country whose elected head of government was deposed by
decree or military coup.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. REMOVAL OF EXEMPTION FROM PROHIBITION ON MILITARY ASSISTANCE.
(a) IN GENERAL- Section 1 of the Act entitled `An Act to authorize the President
to exercise waivers of foreign assistance restrictions with respect to Pakistan
through September 30, 2003, and for other purposes', approved October 27,
2001 (Public Law 107-57), is repealed.
(b) APPLICABILITY- The repeal made by subsection (a) shall apply to all funds
expended on or after the date of the enactment of this Act, and to any funds
obligated before the date of the enactment of this Act that have not been
expended as of such date of enactment.
