Mr. NADLER introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee
on Transportation and Infrastructure
A BILL
To provide for the resolution of certain labor issues relating to
the merger of the Metro-North Railroad and the Long Island Rail Road.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United
States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. EXTINGUISHMENT.
Upon the merger of the Metro-North Railroad and the Long Island Rail Road,
the collective bargaining agreement between the Association of Commuter Rail
Employees and the Metro-North Railroad shall be extinguished.
SEC. 2. DEEMED COVERAGE.
Employees of the entity resulting from the merger described in section 1 shall
be deemed to be covered under the appropriate collective bargaining agreement
of the Long Island Rail Road in compliance with the Railway Labor Act.
SEC. 3. DISPUTES.
All disputes arising from the application of this Act shall be subject to
the jurisdiction of the National Mediation Board.
